Istanbul Beylerbeyi Palace
The Beylerbeyi Palace was constructed by the architect Sarkis Balyan between 1861 and 1865 for Abdulaziz. The exterior decoration was adopted from European Neo-Classicism but the interior was completed in the traditional Ottoman style.
This palace was used both as a summer palace and as a residence for visiting royalty. In 1984 this palace was converted to a museum.
